Plays
Each of the following pieces speaks to a fractured aspect of South African society and most examine the often challenging journeys we all still travel. All are written in dramatically contrasting styles but investigate common themes of identity, family, sexuality, hope, despair, a sense of belonging and forgiveness, amongst others. One or more may very well be reprised in the future so keep your eye on the “What's New” page.
“Witnesses”: This compelling murder mystery is set in a local police station where three witnesses are brought in for questioning regarding a fatal incident at which they were all present.
“History of Cape Town - Abridged”: Is it a comedy? Is it a musical? Is it theatre? NO! It's the “History of Cape Town” (ABRIDGED)!!! Yes ladies and gentlemen, the first of its kind...ever! Over a thousand years of history squeezed into seventy five little minutes.
“Journey to the Light”: “Journey to the Light” is the compelling heroic story of a young man's journey from his imprisonment to his ultimate goal, the mountain of the light.
“Corner Hope & Vrede”: A comedy scratching on the everyday skin of the Newish South Africa. Crime, affirmative action, immigration, 10 years of democracy, Cape Town car guards and the Bush war on terror provide the satirical ingredients.
